FALL FESTIVAL SET-UP BEGINS

VISITATION FROM NUNS IN MINSK- In July, we are expecting a visit to our parish from the Convent of St. Elizabeth in Novinki, a village near Minsk, Belarus. The nuns will be talking about their work and raising funds for the poor.

PREPARATIONS FOR FALL FESTIVAL – we are already getting ready for our 11^th Annual Fall Festival & Russian Bazaar, the date is October 4, 2008. We need everyone’s help on this day to make it a successful event. This one event pays our utilities for the entire year. Please accept this announcement and call for help. Don’t wait to be asked, but step forward. Support our parish in this work !

FESTIVAL DONATIONS NEEDED – there are donations which are needed for the festival, for the food sessions which take place in advance, and for items needed on that day. Please sign up for a donation at church, or solicit help.

RENTAL OF THE HALL – the House Committee has placed the final touches on the rental agreements for our hall. We are making an offering of the facility for meetings, showers, and other events. A rental packet is available at the Candledesk, through the starosta, and from our website.

ELECTION OF NEW METROPOLITAN – In May the Holy Synod of Bishops met in council and elected a new first hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church outside Russia. His Eminence Archbishop Hilarion of Australia was elected to the position of metropolitan and was confirmed by Patriarch Alexei of Moscow.
